Rivery

The Rivery is a huge change from the wide open spaces of most of the other Austin area courses (read: lots of tight tunnel shots). Bring your 'A' game and long pants, because you will need both to survive out here. There are tee signs with yardage at every hole, so once you find the first hole you should be able to make it out without too much trouble.
New parking instructions-
Hello Joel,
I have recently moved up north in Austin and have been playing Lago Vista and the Rivery since I am removed from the much loved south courses (Pease, Circle C and Seawright). I am writing to give you better parking directions for The Rivery.
Travel I-35 north and take the Andice/Georgetown/Hwy 79 exit and make a u-turn at the light. You will now be traveling south on the frontage road of I-35. You will cross over the bridge and see the man-made "lake" on your right. After crossing the bridge make a right into the Home Depot parking lot. As soon as you turn right there will be an asphalt road to your right, take this road until it deadends and park. Hole one is down the hill along the side of the freeway.
This is a much better place to park. Not nearly as much walking as parking behind the KFC. Holes 1,2 and 18 have been pretty nasty as of late. The rain flooded these holes to the point that you don't want to play them. I was at this course last week and the mosquitos were horrific. Other than that I enjoyed the course. It is very tight and the baskets are "placed" in hard to get at spots. Bring you technical game.

Also, I received this recently from Dana McFadden: The hike and bike trail construction is 95% complete. The lake is now filling up. The brush that lines most holes is thick so distance is not the issue. The tee box for #3 is gone. There are some rocks piled up on the North side of the lake about midway up. Same basket for #3. The old #17 and #18 have been replaced. The new #17 is just to the left of the #6 tee box. It's about 165' long with the basket below the tee box level. The hold is a right to left protected by thick woods (right) and a tree line (left). The new #18 is about 25' west of the #17 basket. It's a left to right about 185'.
Thank you, Dana.
